Winter-Proofing for Wellness

Protecting your most precious asset

Winter is right around the corner and it’s time to prepare our homes for the elements. While I do appreciate Bob Vila and his steadfast contribution in this regard, the home that I am referencing is the mind. Our mind is the home where thoughts and beliefs live and where sometimes, despite our best efforts, negativity creeps in. The colder, dark days of winter combined with a global pandemic, flu season, racial unrest and other potential stressors signal that it’s important to prepare to take care of our mental well-being. Here are four coping strategies for COVID-19 and other winter challenges to start practicing now:

“The mind is the home where our thoughts and beliefs live.”

“I feel grounded and find most inspiration in nature.” Gary Motley on composing “Mist”.
